Youlgrave (or Youlgreave as the village is often called) is a pretty village with traditional old pubs and village stores, and was once the centre of the Derbyshire lead-mining industry. Nearby Bakewell is also extremely popular with visitors and offers a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a frequent local market.
Church Corner Cottage is a 17th century Grade II listed stone built terraced cottage situated at the very heart of the delightful village of Youlgrave, overlooking the historic church of All Saints. Centrally located in a beautiful part of the Peak District National Park, this is an ideal location for exploring on foot with lovely walks from the doorstep, or riding a bike through the many quiet lanes and footpaths of the area. This cottage has been lovingly renovated to maintain the character but we have added some 21st century luxury.

Surrounded by stunning countryside, the ancient village of Youlgrave winds its way along a narrow limestone shelf, situated between two of the area's loveliest valleys - Lathkill Dale to the north and Bradford Dale to the south.
Once the centre of Derbyshire's lead-mining industry, this charming village now plays home to 3 pubs, all serving food, 3 shops, garage and a delightful medieval church. All Saints Parish Church with its 15th century square tower, reputedly the finest in Derbyshire, dominates the Main Street, which seems to shrink in awe of its mighty shadow. Known locally as 'pommy' (or pommie!) - a reference to the local silver band and the 'pom pom pom' playing in the early days, the village is also renowned for its well dressing. The village of Youlgrave has more reason than others in Derbyshire to give thanks for water by celebrating welldressing as we have our very own water supply which has never let us down.
The attractive market town of Bakewell is nearby and offers a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a frequent Monday street market, and monthly farmers market. With the whole of the Peak District National Park on the doorstep, many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall as well. For walkers and cyclists, their are numerous routes directly form the door and easy access to the trails.
